TODAY’S VERSE Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. Hebrews 10:24 (NLT)
TODAY’S THOUGHT Jesus never intended us to be church dwellers. He wanted us to be field workers. He didn’t go around setting up new synagogues in His name so we could worship. Instead, He called us to participate in His mission to reach a lost world with the good news of the gospel. Now assembling together to worship, learn and encourage one another is definitely important. Right after today’s passage the author writes, “And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another.” However, if you really want to know what is near to the heart of Jesus, read Matthew chapter nine. Matthew wrote, “Jesus traveled through all the towns and villages of that area, teaching in the synagogues and announcing the Good News about the Kingdom. And he healed every kind of disease and illness.” The author of Hebrews compels us to do the same today. He wrote, “Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works.” Today, let’s be active in our Savior’s mission.
