Hola! Thanks for visiting our Missions Timeline. This timeline tracks where we’ve had the privilege of ministering since the day we started itinerant missions, as well as where we are now. I hope you find this page interesting!
January 24th, 2017 – April 3rd, 2017–Nicaragua: We started full-time faith-based international mission work by boarding the Spirit Airlines flight 231 from Atlanta to Fort Lauderdale. (See my blog from Fort Lauderdale here) We worked as Gospel-sharers in Matagalpa, Matagalpa Department, Nicaragua with occasional trips to outlying areas. We did work as the Lord leads – just expressing the love of Jesus to the poor, middle-class, and rich on the streets, going house to house in the villages, singing, playing, and preaching in the local churches, encouraging locals in their faith, and spurring missionaries on to do their true work, all the while learning from every experience. And of course, building lifelong and for-a-season relationships that we look forward to reuniting with.
April 5th, 2017 – June 1st, 2017–Georgia: We worked as Gospel-sharers in the North Georgia mountains during this season. I sang and play in various places, pretty much wherever the Lord led. We made new friends and were so blessed to reunite with old ones. We got refreshed from our season in Matagalpa, while although it was amazing, it was tiring. I also recovered from the recurring symptoms of a tropical disease I contracted while in Nicaragua. In addition to all that, I tried to catch up on the weeks of school I missed during the time we didn’t have internet in Nicaragua, as well as the days we were just too busy. It was important not to make this a season where we go back home and recover, but rather, a season to minister here.
June 3rd, 2017 – July 10th, 2017–South Dakota: We stayed in the Black Hills of South Dakota during this season, ministering to people everywhere and making connections that last–both in our small town and on the Native American reservation. We enjoyed soaking in the beauty, which ministers to our souls, and ministering to other souls around us. We had the privilege of buying and selling items, using the opportunity to minister to hearts across the state. I caught up with a lot of school, while much work was done with the house and our equipment as we ministered.
July 18th, 2017 to August 13th, 2017–Alaska: We gratefully arrived in Alaska after a full week of traveling in mid-July. We stayed and worked in the beautiful Kenai Peninsula, built relationships, helped our relatives there, and followed the Holy Spirit’s lead. We saw the Lord provide over and over again, and we were once again strengthened in our resolve to continue following His still, small voice, no matter how long and far it takes us. We did inner healing and deliverance with some divine connections and some of our new friends are from or live in foreign countries or other states, which may help determine our itinerary.
Road Trip Interlude: Though I wouldn’t ordinarily include our journey to/from a particular destination in this Missions Timeline, I kind of had to for this, because we were actually placed in an unexpected location for three days on our trip back. This was a First Nations reservation in the north frontier of BC, and we are so blessed to have had this on our heavenly itinerary.
August 21st, 2017 to October 19th, 2017–South Dakota: We came back into the Dakota Territory hoping to finish what we started, so to speak, in going up there originally. We did inner healing and deliverance, as well as playing and singing in local churches, and loving the ones in front of us. We also fit in a visit or two to the Pine Ridge Reservation. So many valuable relationships were made and re-established, and we look forward to seeing these beautiful people once again.
October 19th, 2017 to April 9th, 2018–Georgia: In this season we stayed in the North Georgia Mountains once again, playing, singing, preaching, and building valuable relationships. Though we wanted to head out again to do ministry further abroad, the Lord kept us in Georgia for nearly six months. We also all recovered from various really bad attacks against our health, storing up energy for what lies ahead 🙂
April 9th, 2018 to April 25th, 2018–Nicaragua: The Lord took us on an extremely spontaneous trip to Nicaragua–so spontaneous that we actually booked our flights right around six hours before our plane took off. This leg of our journey started with just my dad and I ministering for about a week with our good friend Isaac Prather and his two sons on the east coast with the Miskito people. The two of us were then reunited with my mom and were able to head to Matagalpa, which is where we lived in 2017 for three months, to re-establish relationships and witness miracles and salvations.
April 25th, 2018 to May 1st, 2018–Georgia: The three of us arrived back in Georgia quite worn out physically but spiritually rejoicing. We recovered from the time in Nicaragua and recharged for the next leg of our journey, while praying into what that might be.
May 1st, 2018 to May 11th, 2018–Florida: We embarked on the next leg of our journey: Florida. Again, this was a shorter stent than usual, and we only spent three days on average at every location, but we had the joy of reuniting with dear friends and family, meeting amazing new friends, and doing ministry in several locations and with several different ministries.
May 11th, 2018 to November 28th, 2018–Georgia: We worked on consolidating all of our stuff in Georgia while preparing to sell the house in this season. Over this time, the Lord provided several special people to disciple and be iron sharpening our iron. Blessed fellowship was had all through this summer while I worked especially hard in school trying to make a deadline of January, all the while packing and preparing for the move. Sure enough, the Lord miraculously sold the house on the last day of this season, and we set out.
December 1st, 2018 to April 15th, 2019–South Dakota: We prayed in this season for relationships to be built and for doors to be opened in our new missions base. Sure enough, God opened several doors and brought people into our lives. It was a harder season of becoming trusted, and the winter is cold and hard, but slowly but surely connections were built.
April 19th, 2019 to April 27th, 2019–Florida: We had the privilege of staying with a new friend (now my honorary grandma) in the Tallahassee area for a week, all the while being with old friends, making new ones (meeting my twin!), and ministering through worship and prayer. We also attended my cousin’s wedding!
April 27th, 2019 to April 30th, 2019–Georgia: For this weekend, we stayed with a dear friend while visiting old friends and excitedly packing for Colombia!
April 30th, 2019 to May 14th, 2019–Colombia: After a smooth journey, we arrived in Cartagena on the 30th and made our way to Barranquilla on May 1st. This being our first time in Colombia, we had the honor of making many new friends and witnessing the open hearts of the Colombian people. God moved in many mighty ways, including salvation, healing, filling with the Holy Spirit, and deliverance.
May 15th, 2019 to May 20th, 2019–Georgia: We had the opportunity to return to the Georgia Blue Ridge Mountains to minister with old friends and re-establish relationships before heading to our dear friends in West Georgia for the weekend. After blessed times in Georgia, we head out for South Dakota, hitting up friends in eastern Wisconsin and central Minnesota on the way.
May 23rd, 2019 to January 31st, 2020–South Dakota: You would not believe how many quick and so-very-dear connections have been built in South Dakota just in this short period of time. I have also learned so much about the power of prayer and of contending for others’ souls! I may or may not post about this later on 🙂 I’ve also been blessed with amazing friends that mean so very much to me ❤️
February 1st, 2020 to February 5th, 2020–Colorado: In early February, we were able to spend five days with our very dear Brazilian family in Colorado. This was a much-appreciated reunion and the first time we’d seen each other in some months.
February 6th, 2020 to February 10th, 2020–Texas: It was such a great time being able to visit family in Texas and do ministry and spend time with an elderly great-uncle of mine. God is good!
February 12th, 2020 to February 24th, 2020–South Dakota: This short interval back in South Dakota was spent mostly supporting friends at basketball games, building relationships, working on school, and recovering from our trip to Colorado and Texas.
February 25th, 2020 to March 2nd, 2020–Colorado: After a couple weeks of being back in South Dakota, we headed back down to Colorado to help with our friends’ daughter being sick with the flu. (It wasn’t covid 😆)
