Hello there! I’m Elle, a 19-year-old that loves Jesus with everything. Here’s a few fun facts about me:

  • I graduated from homeschooling in 2020.
  • I’m an MK (missionary kid) that’s been raised traveling for my teen years and now lives in SD doing ministry and traveling when possible.
  • My name is actually pronounced like Ellie or Elly.
  • I enjoy learning languages and interpreting for people.
  • I have flown small aircraft five times and love aviation!
  • I love reading, mostly biographies of Christians or Christian fiction…basically anything that builds faith.
  • I sing and play ukulele and guitar, and hope to learn Appalachian dulcimer and cello.
  • I have a bit of a southern accent that comes out much stronger when I’m upset haha.
  • I loveee playing pickleball!
  • And I’ll probably think of something to add to this as soon as I publish it.

When I post (which is way too sporadically) I talk about various things the Lord has laid on my heart to share, as well as book reviews and occasional mission and life updates.   2. I read your “Why Jesus?” and could not comment there, so I figured I would write my comment here.

    He is certainly everything! In life and in death. And, certainly, no one, however evil, seemingly power, or cruel they may be has any power to affect His love. This is what captivated (read enthralled) me. Hell? I certainly believe there is hell, always have, but I think it is sometimes understood wrong. I could never love Him for fear of hell (does that even make sense? “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear has to do with punishment.”) I love Him because He loved me; because I knew His love.

    I had to know His love; He died for me and He is risen! Nothing can separate me from His love. And, because I know His love, I fear nothing – not even ISIS, since you mentioned them. Actually, I spent a long time running from Him because I feared torture and death… HE IS GOOD!

    I wish everyone knew that and loved Him. Including the members of ISIS and Kim Jong-un.

    1. Amen! We definitely shouldn’t love Him out of fear – I probably phrased that wrong 🙂

      I honestly haven’t met many Christians that want to love ISIS and King Jong-Un and the like, but I so want to see them saved. Thank you for mentioning that 🙂

      1. It confuses me. If people did not think about ISIS or Kim Jong-un enough to fear them, then I might be able to understand. But, if you fear them and are tempted to hate them, are they not then your enemies for whom you are commanded to pray and whom you are told to love?

        1. True, true. Love is missing in so many Christians. It’s also ironic that God is love, and for some reason we think we can go without loving others. Thanks again for commenting! It’s great to discuss with like-minded believers 🙂

          1. You’re welcome. It is a blessing to discuss things with like-minded believers. I just think that it seems self-contradictory to say “Love is missing in so many Christians.” We are not yet perfected, but it does say, in various different words throughout 1st John, things like “Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.” And, well, knowing God IS eternal life, is salvation. To be a Christian – to not know God – does that even make sense?

            1. Yup. I kind of said that knowingly, in that a lot of “Christians” don’t actually have a relationship with Jesus. I’m not called to judge their salvation – that’s Jesus’ job and His only – but I do know that many good Christian people aren’t living lives for Christ and are wrapped in religion (see my post Ripping the Veil Off).

              1. Another thing is that a lot of people in America try to make other Christians feel uncomfortable living, talking, and thinking like Christians. Some people try to tell others, like, “How dare you love them!” or, “They didn’t hurt YOU! You have no right not hating them.” (Of course, they don’t say it quite like that, most of the time.) This results, though, in Christians, who would really rather live according to the will of God, talking and thinking that they think in ways that are not in accordance with the new creations that they actually are in Christ Jesus – acting like what they are not and do not want to be. It seems there is a conspiracy afoot to try to make Christians act like the world and the world to act moral.

                1. Yup, that’s how the enemy works. He wants to steal, kill, and destroy, and he whispers lies into believers’ ears. Not that we should focus on him, but we should for sure be aware.

  5. Hey!! Thanks for liking my content. I just checked out your page, and I’m astounded by the work you’re doing for the Lord Jesus! It’s actually what I feel called to do as well, travel around the world doing ministry. My girlfriend and I are actually missions majors! I think maybe we should connect, I’d love to know how you got involved with this and more about you. I’m 19 and wasn’t really raised in the Church so, just a bit late to the game lol.

    1. Hey, absolutely! I found you off someone’s blog (I don’t remember whose haha). Thanks for stopping by my blog! That’s awesome that you and your girlfriend recognize the calling on your lives! It’s sad to see that the majority of Christians don’t know they’re called to go into all the world and preach the Gospel, and even sadder that they’re not empowered by the Holy Spirit.

      So, basically we were the everyday pew-sitters that lived an empty form of religion. In 2012, the Lord really got a hold of my parents’ lives, with the infilling of the Holy Spirit, inner healing, deliverance, etc. I was also heavily involved, but I had to come to my own hunger and thirst for God and I am still learning how to continually be filled with the Spirit. It’s been a wonderful journey since then. In 2014, we went on a couple mission trips to Nicaragua with the ministry we were involved in, and we were hooked! haha We went back a couple times in 2016 by ourselves and with a friend, and decided we had to do it full-time. So my dad quit his job, we sold our suburban house, and we moved into the north Georgia mountains. And the rest is on the timeline!   6. Hey Elle! I’m also a homeschooler who is graduating this year!! That’s so cool that you fly, I’ve been up in several small aircrafts, but I have yet to have flown one.
    I knew a guy who played the cello, it’s such a pretty sounding instrument. :))

It’s like I truly understand now how we can all be brothers and sisters even though most of us haven’t met! God is so good to give us a family that calls Him Lord 😍
